Oakland Couple’s Portraits, Amy and Jason

Oakland_couple6

We had beautiful light all day for this fun couples session in the Oakland hills (you may recognize Amy and Jason from their super creative Livermore wedding), we started with a wander with their adorable dogs and then caught the sunset light down at Jack London square. Amy’s heading off for a month of basic training and wanted to schedule a family photo shoot so she’d have some prints to bring along and keep her motivated.

More shoots out in Stockton, California. It’s really fun working back in my home town, did a few sessions at American Legion Park and finished up just before a bit of rain! My childhood home was just down the street from this park, I remember going to see firework shows on the 4th of July there.

Phoenix Arizona, Portraits

Nearly every winter my partner and I take a road trip to Arizona to spend the holidays with our nieces and nephew. I’ve been photographing them for years, it’s so wonderful watching them grow into adulthood. This year I left the DSLR at home and relied on the Fuji system. The more I shoot with this camera, the more I love it.

I’ve been testing out this Minolta M-Rokkor QF 40mm 2.0 that a friend loaned me to see if I want to take it on an upcoming trip and am fairly pleased with the results so far. It’s been an adventure getting used to manual focus again (modern DSLR’s really spoil us!)
