Kitty von Quim

The week started out a little less than fun… Monday D and I both went to the dentist and met with our CPA about business taxes + planning for next year. We also signed up for a health insurance plan through his business, which is wonderful (healthcare, yay!) and expensive (less than yay.) So far the theme of the week so far has been ‘grown up stuff, and acting like a grown up about it’.

Retouching a shoot like this reminds me that while running a business can be an enormous pain in the a$$, I love this job! Kitty von Quim is a burlesque performer and a dancer with Rubenesque Burlesque. She performs regularly here in the SF bay area, and it was a blast working with her on these photos.

Kitty’s fierce dress is by Orange Appeal, and her hair was styled by Artina Marie.

Cari – Beautiful Bride Portraits

I’m working up a whole blog post of Cari and Stephane’s wedding photos, but in the meantime, enjoy a few shots from our casual portrait session at the Westin St. Francis hotel here in San Francisco.

Ok, so that last one isn’t technically of the bride, but these were some very photogenic children!

Got Groom?

Following up on the bride portraits session, our original concept was to incorporate this sign – Groom Wanted – into the shoot. While the concept quickly went by the wayside, we did get a few hilarious shots of AK searching for her groom in Golden Gate Park, and more than one available guy seemed interested…

Engagement Session – Cari and Stephane

cs_1

I’ve known Cari for a while now, and was absolutely honored that she and Stephane chose me to photograph their wedding.  I like to schedule an engagement session beforehand so that we can get some time before the wedding to work together. We shot this quickly –  just a week before the wedding, at the Berkeley botanical gardens.
